When Elon Musk first mentioned the Starlink Mini dish that can go into a backpack for Internet connectivity on the go, he teased that it would cost half of the Standard Kit price that is now discounted down to $279 on Amazon, but was priced $599 at the time.
The Mini dish, however, launched at the whopping $599 price itself, which was actually higher than the more capable Standard kit that had fallen by $100 in the meantime. Granted, it comes with a built-in router, but the pricing was due to the fact that its production couldn't meet initial demand for months on end.
Best Starlink Mini dish price deal
- $229
Starlink has cut the price of both the Starlink Standard and Mini kits many times since, bringing its larger dish meant for Residential plan service down to $349, and even giving it away for free in certain areas in the US which are yet to amass many satellite Internet customers.
SpaceX also began offering the Starlink Mini dish for free to said Residential plan customers, first in Australia in September, then the enticing offer came to the US and Canada in October. The only catch was that they had to also sign for a Roam plan, but Starlink was discounting this one by 50% as well.
Now, however, Starlink has cut the price of the Mini dish to just $229, and the deal is available to anyone in the US. This is the best Starlink Mini dish deal so far, as it costs $250 less than people were paying for it just three months ago.
The Starlink Mini dish takes minutes to be deployed anywhere and offers satellite Internet download speeds of up to 100 Mbps. Needless to say, its biggest advantage is that it is very compact and suitable for travel, with plenty of stories how it provides crucial Internet access in places as remote as Alaska or the Amazonian jungle.
The Standard Kit price has also been dropped when acquired with the Roam plan, from $349 to $279, but it is not nearly as comfortable to actually roam with one compared to the freedom that the Mini dish now gives for only $229.
