When Elon Musk teased the Starlink Mini dish with its integrated Wi-Fi router last June, he inferred that it would be priced at about half of what the Standard Kit cost at the time, raising the hopes for a $299 tag high.
Not only did those good intentions fail to materialize, but the Starlink Mini dish price promise got turned on its head for the good part of a year.
Instead of launching a Mini kit at $299, SpaceX released it for $599, then permanently dropped the Starlink Standard Kit price to $349 at places like Best Buy.
There was such a demand for the mobile Starlink Mini dish that SpaceX could hardly catch up with production and saw little incentive to do anything but isolated promos and a token $100 discount.
Starlink Mini dish price deal
Until now, that is, when SpaceX finally dropped the Starlink Mini price by 50% compared to its launch tag, making good on Elon Musk's promise.
The Starlink Mini dish is now priced at $299, dropping below the Standard Kit pricing for the first time, if we don't count shady resellers at Walmart, Amazon, and the like.
Starlink does warn that this is a limited time offer for those who grab a Starlink Mini kit before May 28, and is only available to US buyers.
Still, this is the best deal on a Mini dish so far, and those who need a compact and lightweight solution to connect to Starlink's satellite Internet on the go would certainly appreciate the offer.
