SpaceX has introduced a fresh round of discounts on its Starlink Mini satellite internet kit, aimed at US and Canadian customers. The compact, backpack-sized device is designed for travelers, campers, and outdoor enthusiasts who need connectivity off the grid.
In the US, the Starlink Mini is now available for $299, down from $499. Canadian buyers can pick one up for CAD $399, down from CAD $599. The promotion mirrors a similar price drop offered earlier this year, with SpaceX once again encouraging adoption of its portable internet hardware.
The Starlink Mini requires a Starlink Roam plan to function across multiple locations. In the US, the Unlimited Roam plan costs about $150 per month, while Canadian customers pay CAD $189. A lower-cost plan with capped data is also available.
The Musk-owned satellite internet service has recently adjusted its policies. The free ‘pause’ option is being phased out in favor of a new Standby Mode, billed at $5 per month. In this mode, speeds are capped at roughly 0.5 Mbps, just enough for basic browsing and messaging.
The compact Starlink Mini can fit in a backpack and comes with a built-in Wi-Fi router, and can be set up in under 10 minutes. The kit is now available through SpaceX’s website and major retailers, including Best Buy and Home Depot.
