Update | Batman Beyond game with Nemesis System, Cyberpunk Gotham city, in development at Rocksteady

May 12, 12:48 PM ET update
Jason Schreier has posted on the Resetera forum that the Batman Beyond game rumor is fake. No other explanation or clarification has been given.
Original article is as follows:
Rocksteady is the studio behind the popular Batman Arkham series of games, but their last mainline game came out more than 10 years ago. That doesn’t mean the studio has stayed dormant since then, as the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League spin-off was released in 2024. Now, a new leak has suggested that another spin-off that is closer to the mainline Batman games is in early development.
The information comes from 4chan and cites industry sources, claiming that a Batman Beyond game is in early development at Rocksteady. The game is said to be set after Batman: Arkham Knight (2015) and will be a soft reboot of the franchise. It will be based on the animated series with Terry McGinnis playing the Batman of the future, and an older Bruce Wayne as his mentor. Paul Dini, who is known from is work on Batman: The Animated Series, is writing the game.
The leaker also shared some photos from a dev build, from a year ago, and they show the lead character in the titular suit with retractable wings, as was seen in the animated series. The photos have been AI-edited to remove watermarks, the leaker claims.
Interestingly, the Batman Beyond game will have a Nemesis System made popular by the Middle-earth: Shadow of War games, and Blight will be the main antagonist. It makes sense since Warner Bros, the parent company of Rocksteady, holds a patent for the Nemesis System. The Batman game will be set in the future, similar to Cyberpunk 2077, but in the iconic Gotham City. That’s about all the information shared by the leaker.
