The release of Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is just around the corner. The game will cost just $30, contain no microtransactions and offer a fast-paced online multiplayer experience.

Following the huge success of Hogwarts Legacy (available on Amazon for $47), there will soon be another treat for sports-minded Harry Potter fans. Quidditch Champions is designed to immerse players in the world of Zuaber sports and give them a "fast-paced, competitive" multiplayer experience.

From backyard battles in the Weasley's foxhole to high-profile showdowns at the Quidditch World Cup, players will be able to compete against each other in a variety of iconic locations - either as beaters, hunters, keepers or seekers.

In addition to Harry, Ron and Hermione, the teaser trailer also shows the Weasley twins Fred and George, Draco Malfoy and the Quidditch World Champion Viktor Krum from Durmstrang School. However, it is not yet known which characters will be playable alongside the main protagonists.

The English-language trailer does not reveal any gameplay, but gives a good impression of the colorful comic graphics:

Probably no single player mode

According to a press release paul Ohanian, CEO of Unbroken Studios, said the following:

"We’ve worked hard to create a Quidditch game to play solo or with friends, that is an authentic representation of the fan-favorite sport."

By "solo", Ohanian probably doesn't mean a large single-player campaign, but rather the ability to play alone against the computer. So far, it looks as though Quidditch Champions is focusing more on online multiplayer mode. A permanent internet connection will be required and there will be no split-screen mode.

Release on September 3, 2024

After Quidditch Champions was already announced in April 2023 warner Bros. Games has now released the reveal trailer and announced the official release date. The game will be released worldwide on September 3 for PC (Steam / Epic), PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The price is expected to be around 30 US dollars. Although the game is not yet available for pre-order, on Steam fans can already add it to their wish list.

According to the developer studio's official website, fans will be particularly pleased to hear that there will be no microtransactions in Quidditch Champions. Players who own Hogwarts Legacy will receive the Bonus Legacy Pack with some cosmetic content as an additional goodie.
