Since its February 2023 release, some Hogwarts Legacy players have bemoaned the lack of much DLC or an expansion. Warner Bros. Games and developer Avalanche Software are about to allow gamers to create content for the title themselves. The game's YouTube channel announced that official Hogwarts Legacy modding support will arrive through a January 30th update. While enterprising players have already developed PC mods, new tools will streamline their creation and distribution.
WB wisely sought out the services of CurseForge, which hosts mods for popular games like Minecraft. With the Hogwarts Legacy Creator Kit, players have all the tools necessary to design cosmetic items or skins. More beneficial to the game's longevity, it's also encouraged to devise new quests, dungeons, and characters. Once mods are ready for testing, players can upload them directly into the game. Hogwarts Legacy mods will then appear for download in menus accessible by all PC players.
Avalanche Software has already partnered with select modders to make some options available on January 30th. Hogwarts Legacy Steam and Epic Games players will have to link their accounts to a WB Games account to experiment with mods. Some players probably would have preferred Steam Workshop support. For now, there is no word on console modding, but the same in-game interface could potentially find its way to other gaming systems.
CurseForge will host a Goblet of Mods Contest on January 30th to spark modders' creativity. These endeavors could be lucrative, with a $100,000 prize pool awaiting participants. Hogwarts Legacy 2 is already in the works, but user-created content will make waiting for the sequel less agonizing.

Warner Bros. Games Announces Official PCModding Support for Hogwarts Legacy with Creator Kit and Downloadable Mods Coming 30th January
CurseForge Platform to Manage Publishing of Mods to Game
Warner Bros. Games today announced that for the first time, it will officially support PC modding with the critically acclaimed open-world action RPG Hogwarts Legacy. Beginning 30th January, Steam and Epic Games Store players can download the latest patch to easily access and download available mods directly from the main menu in the game, and those who want to create their own mods can do so with the Hogwarts Legacy Creator Kit available for free on the Epic Games Store.
CurseForge, one of the world’s largest repository of mods and addons for video games, will be hosting and moderating the Hogwarts Legacy mods. The Hogwarts Legacy Creator Kit will support modding new quests, dungeons, and character enhancements such as cosmetics and skins. The mods can then be submitted through the CurseForge platform to be published in the game.
Providing details on the integrated modding system, Hogwarts Legacy developer Avalanche Software conjured up a new video that discusses what players can expect and showcases some of the studio's favorite mods that will be available when the feature launches next month. Highlighted in the video is the “Dungeon of Doom” mod, a dungeon packed with combat and hidden secrets, as well as all-new broom replacement mods, expanded character creation, outfit customization and more.
