New Hogwarts Legacy DLC, 'Definitive Edition', is reportedly in development, likely targeting a 2025 launch

At this point, Hogwarts Legacy (check our benchmarks and review here) has firmly established itself as one of the most successful games in recent history. By the end of 2023, the game had sold over 22 million copies, making it the best-selling game of the year across major platforms like PlayStation and Xbox. This was a major achievement- breaking a 14-year streak of domination by Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto in the yearly sales rankings.

It now appears that Warner Bros. is gearing up to milk some more money from the player base by releasing a Definitive Edition of the game. This new edition will reportedly include 10–15 hours of new content, ranging from a fresh story quest to side activities and unique outfits. The DLC is expected to be priced between $20 and $30, as per the Insider Gaming report, although the exact release date remains uncertain. Many expect it to arrive in 2025, which, in all fairness, isn't too far off. 

Additionally, Warner Bros. CFO has confirmed that a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy is a top priority, though fans will have to wait a few years for its release. Meanwhile, a standalone Quidditch game is already in beta testing, as per earlier reports. Hogwarts Legacy is still going strong, with a 10,849 player count at the time of writing, as per SteamDB. These numbers are expected to skyrocket once again when the DLC comes out, but let's wait for an official announcement from the company first.
