After Asus announced that the ROG Phone 6 would land with Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, it appears the gaming phone's rumor mill may have picked up speed, with images of a supposed prototype now appearing in the wild.

As Qualcomm debuted the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 a few days ago, OEMs announced a slew of devices to come equipped with the new chipset. Asus was, of course, one of those and confirmed that its next-gen gaming phone, the ROG Phone 6, would land with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.

It appears the ROG Phone 6 may not be far from launch anymore, as a new leak has now provided a first look at the gaming phone. Equal Leaks, sharing images seemingly from Chinese social media, has now revealed images of what appears to be a prototype of the Asus ROG Phone 6, as the company gears up for release.

The leaked images only reveal the rear of the ROG Phone 6. One obvious change from last year's ROG Phone 5 is the camera module, as the new phone sports a much larger, hexagonal module. "Confidential Equipment" is inscribed on the module as well, indicating that it's a prototype. For what it's worth, this camera module also corroborates the leaked 2D images from earlier in the year.

While the ROG 5 only has "For those who dare" and "Republic of Gamers" written on the rear panel, this prototype has "Dare" in much bolder script as well "Designed by ROG Labs". There's also a date—22/03/30—at the bottom.
