Leave it to a company who designs some of the most stylish gaming laptops to offer one of the best-looking mobile workstations yet. The ProArt StudioBook Pro 17 promises Xeon options, ECC RAM, and a 16:10 1200p display wrapped a Zephyrus-like chassis.

If the $5000 Asus ProArt StudioBook Pro X is a little too insane for your taste, then the lesser Asus ProArt StudioBook Pro 17 should do the trick. This thinner and lighter version comes with the same Pantone-validated 17-inch 16:10 display as its pricier sibling and it can be configured with the same Xeon E-2276M CPU as well — all for $2000 to $3000 less.

Of course, some cutbacks had to be made. Unlike the Pro X version, the Pro 17 will have a more traditional clickpad in lieu of the ScreenPad. Furthermore, its GPU maxes out at the Nvidia Quadro RTX 3000 instead of the Quadro RTX 5000. There is one less Thunderbolt 3 port and the bezels are slightly thicker (5.3 mm vs. 3.8 mm). Even so, the Pro 17 is still a high-end machine aimed at professionals much like the Razer Blade Pro 17 Studio, MSI WS75, or the Lenovo ThinkPad P series.

Online retailers like ABT, B&H, Newegg, and Xotic PC are already accepting pre-orders for the ProArt StudioBook Pro 17.

Fremont, California (November 18, 2019) — ASUS today announced the new ProArt StudioBook Pro 17, which is one of the world’s thinnest Quadro laptops that has the power to create anywhere. It provides top-notch control and performance with 9th Generation Intel® Xeon® or Intel Core™ i7 hexa-core processor, with NVIDIA® pro-grade Quadro RTX 3000 Max-Q graphics, high-end thermal, and a NanoEdge display that leads to a revolutionary experience.

High performance and durability for mobile workloads

The 9th Generation Intel® Xeon® or Intel Core™ i7 hexa-core processor are designed to handle complex, multithreaded applications. These processors take mobile computing to another level, making it incredibly smooth and responsive while multitasking. You can seamlessly edit your creations and render multilayered files with NVIDIA RTX 3000 Max-Q graphics, which are optimized for stability and performance in professional applications. These NVIDIA RTX Studio laptops utilize the NVIDIA Turing architecture and takes advantage of the power of hardware accelerated ray tracing, deep learning and advanced shading techniques to create amazing content faster than ever before.

For creatives, software is key. Full ISV certification ensure users to enjoy optimal stability and performance with their preferred professional software applications.

ProArt StudioBook Pro 17 also meets the MIL-STD 810G military standard by undergoing rigorous of tests in harsh environmental conditions, such as extreme altitudes, temperatures, and humidity while still upholding its quality. It passed ASUS internal laptop tests that far exceeds the industry standards.

NanoEdge Display

The ProArt StudioBook Pro 17 offers a 17-inch NanoEdge display that is truly awe-inspiring. The WUXGA (1920x1200) panel offers a wide color gamut with 97% DCI-P3, 133% sRGB coverage, and exceptional color accuracy. The ultrathin-bezel design gives you the maximum amount of screen real estate in the minimum space given, making it comparable in size to many 15-inch laptops. Despite its compact design, the 16:10 aspect ratio gives you more space for all your creative applications and tools needed. The matte finish is also a nice touch in removing any glares.

Staying cool for peak performance

ProArt StudioBook Pro 17 always keeps its cool as it runs at full clock and pushed to its limits. The cooling fin design improves internal airflow with its liquid-crystal-polymer fan blade impeller, that’s housed in an advanced 3D-curved aerodynamic shroud, which optimizes inlet and exhaust flow. The housing is constructed entirely from tough aluminum with special support ribs for maximum strength and durability. It’s also very quiet, generating less than 35dB of noise in benchmark tests even with the CPU and GPU being pushed to its full capacity.
