We're now getting new leaks pertaining to the 2025 flagship Apple device lineup, the iPhone 17. Previous rumors hinted towards a slew of hardware upgrades likely to be coming to the iPhone 17, with all four variants expected to feature a 120Hz LTPO panel this time around. Reliable Apple analyst, Ming-chi Kuo reported that the Apple plans to introduce a new ultra-slim iPhone 17 in the second half of 2025, since the 'Plus' model's sales are pretty low compared to the other members of the lineup. This is in line with another leak from back in May 2024, where a report by The Information shed light on the same, revealing the price of the iPhone 17 'Slim' as $1,199.
Kuo clears the air up by stating that the new model is not positioned to replace the Plus. Instead, the California-based tech giant is 'exploring new design trends beyond the existing iPhone lineup'. The new slim iPhone 17 will prioritize form factor over top-tier hardware specs, focusing on a sleek design with a 6.6-inch display and a rumored 2,740 x 1,260 px resolution, Kuo states. It will likely utilize the A19 chip (a step below the Pro models' A19 Pro) and feature a single rear camera. He further stated that device will adopt a titanium-aluminum alloy metal frame (like the iPhone 15 Pro devices), with a lower percentage of titanium than the Pro and Pro Max metal frames from the iPhone 17 lineup.
The iPhone 17 lineup is gearing up to be even more interesting than the 16 (here are 5 reasons you should wait for the iPhone 17), and although prices for the iPhone 17 lineup have surfaced in leaks before, nothing concrete is on the horizon. We will have to wait for an official Apple statement for the same.
