The iPhone 17 series could be one of Apple's most visually diverse yet, at least from the back. Apple is not expected to introduce any new iPhones for about six months, having only released the iPhone 16e in mid-February. Based on recent leaks, the designs of the company's next-generation iPhones are already locked in.
For instance, YouTube channel iDeviceHelp has now published a video showcasing dummy units of all four rumoured iPhone 17 models. Produced in collaboration with Majin Bu, the video highlights that little is believed to be changing visually between the iPhone 16 (curr. $759.97 - renewed on Amazon) and the iPhone 17. The same is true of the latter's thickness, which iDeviceHelp measures as approximately 7.28 mm.
Meanwhile, Apple's Pro and Pro Max iPhones are set to receive the most noticeable design changes. With the switch to a larger camera housing already known, iDeviceHelp suggests that the iPhone 17 Pro Max will be about 8.3 mm thick. Incidentally, this contradicts a recent rumour circulated by Ice Universe, details of which we have covered separately.
The video highlights the iPhone 17 Air too, whose physical buttons are almost as thick as the device itself. Conversely, iDeviceHelp reiterates that Apple's first iPhone will be around 5.5 mm thick. Please see the video below for more details.
