Reviews for the Apple iPad Air 4 2020

90.7% Apple iPad Air 4 (2020) Review - The Air Tablet moves closer to the Pro model | Notebookcheck
With the 4th generation of the iPad Air, the design has been revised. This brings it visually closer to the iPad Pro, with which it now shares accessories. In addition, Apple's latest A14 processor is at work in the tablet. This review will tell you what other innovations are available and whether it is worthwhile to change over.
90% Apple iPad Air (2020) review: The tablet for everyone
Source: Android Authority English
The positives crush the negatives, however. The iPad Air (2020) is the tablet you want to buy if you’re not sure exactly what you’ll want to use it for. Perhaps it’ll become your media slate, your casual gaming companion, a portable laptop replacement, a second screen for your Mac, a canvas for art, or all these things and more. It won’t excel at any of these in isolation, but it can fill every role with competence and confidence. Rather than being an awkward middle child, the iPad Air (2020) is the iPad that anyone could buy and find something to love.

If you want the ultimate iPad experience, Apple would probably point you in the direction of its Pro range. But the iPad Air 4 (2020) is all the iPad most people will ever need. It’s such a solid and capable all-rounder, that very few will feel the need to spend the extra for the iPad Pro. The design is superb, the user experience is tough to beat and both sound and picture quality are on point. It’s an excellent tablet, and even with a slight price increase, we still feel it’s worth every penny.

Fortunately, the iPad Air delivers the goods. The design and form factor is great, the display is excellent, and the performance is superb. The old adage “you get what you pay for” holds water here. And I would argue that for a device that you are likely going to keep around and use for a couple of years (more than, say, a phone), it makes sense to get the best you can afford now so that you don’t have to upgrade as early.

When relatives and friends ask me what tablet to buy, I'm telling them to get the iPad Air 4. It's not only faster and more stylish than the normal iPad, but the Magic Keyboard support means the iPad Air is finally a laptop beater. If its battery life was longer, or its display were brighter, Apple might have made the best tablet ever.

90% iPad Air (2020), Magic Keyboard, and Apple Pencil 2 Review: Can They Replace Your Laptop?
Source: NDTV Gadgets English
The iPad Air (2020) looks modern and offers a lot of power and functionality. It's very similar to the 11-inch iPad Pro, and will actually be the more sensible option for many people. If you don't need a high-refresh-rate HDR screen, better speakers and cameras, LiDAR scanner, or higher storage options, the new iPad Air will do just fine. It has a newer processor plus the same style, USB Type-C port, and compatibility with the Magic Keyboard and Pencil 2. Rumours suggest that the iPad Pro lineup is about to get a major refresh with Mini-LED or OLED screens, 5G, and an even more powerful processor, which will return some order to Apple's hierarchy.

iPad Air 4 - Two Month Review (After M1 MacBook Air..)
Source: Max Tech English Archive.org version
The iPad Air 4 definitely has it's place in Apple's iPad lineup thanks to its new modern design and support for the Magic Keyboard case. For $599, it's actually been a pretty great deal for what you get, and if you want the full package, it's priced at $1000 with the case and Apple Pencil 2. However, the new M1 MacBook Air for $999 is so good that it makes the iPad Air 4 a tough buy for a few different reasons. In this video, I review the iPad Air and compare it to the M1 MacBook Air in terms of everything from portability and design to performance and app support.

90% Apple iPad Air (2020) Review – Marvel in the Middle
Source: Slashgear English Archive.org version
What stands out about the 2020 iPad Air is how well-rounded it is. Yes, there are still people for whom the iPad Pro will be a better fit – those whose go-to apps benefit significantly from ProMotion, for example, or a larger display, or who want more storage and are willing to pay handsomely for it – but I suspect the new iPad Air will quash tablet upgraditis for most people. As a result, though it may be $100 more than the old Air, this new 4th generation iPad Air feels like it offers the best of all worlds. Affordable, powerful, beautifully designed and constructed, and increasingly able to do the things that once would have almost certainly demanded a “full” laptop to achieve. Even if that doesn’t make it the device for you, as a teaser of what Apple Silicon will do for Mac, you should be excited.

The iPad Air finally has a solid identity with its fourth-generation model—this time as an affordable alternative to the iPad Pro. While you miss out on features like the 120hz ProMotion display, quad speakers, FaceID, Ultra-wide-angle camera, and LIDAR, the 4th-generation iPad Air comes with colorful back panel options, a newer A14 Bionic processor, and a more palatable price.

The iPad Air 2020 is a huge glow up for Apple’s mid-range tablet, ditching the ageing design for something more industrial and modern. What tie iPad Air 2020 has going for it is a good display for content consumption and gaming. The quad speakers add to the immersion and the battery life is good too. iOS has matured to allow for decent multitasking and if you have a keyboard dock, you can even get some productivity work like typing documents, making spreadsheets and more done. It supports iPad Pro peripherals, which is nice. It may not have the dual-camera setup of the Pro, nor the LiDAR sensor or the 120Hz display. But it makes the right compromises to entice an existing iPad user to upgrade to the Air without worrying about the hefty price tag of the Pro. The only downside is that it still isn't the best replacement for what you can do on Windows or macOS.

Yes, if you are looking for a versatile, powerful portable computing device. In fact, if you are bored of the laptop and not really tied to that form factor then maybe you should consider that iPad Air which is most probably more powerful than most laptops out there now. Here is a device you can carry to the cafe, on the plane and back to office, and still be capable of tackling anything you will encounter in these scenarios. While I said you have to be mindful of the price, the full combo is not costing you more than what similarly specced laptops. Go ahead and own this if you have been itching to upgrade your iPad, or just moving away from traditional laptops.

All iPads, right now, can do similar things. They all support Pencil sketching, keyboards and trackpads and all current models have pretty new processors. So the redesigned iPad Air, starting at $599 (£579, AU$899), is either one of two things: a fancier everyday iPad for you, or a cheaper iPad Pro. And the price, based on how you configure and deck it out in accessories, can vary widely.

Apple iPad Air 2020 review: Great tablet, not quite a laptop
Source: Engadget English Archive.org version
Apple's new 4th gen iPad Air borrows the flat edges and USB-C charging port of the iPad Pro, and even packs a powerful A14 processor as well. This is an excellent tablet, and it's compatible with Apple's Pencil 2 stylus and Magic Keyboard , complete with trackpad. With these accessories, Apple is clearly positioning the iPad Air as a laptop replacement, and while the iPadOS software has greatly improved, it's still not quite up to the task. Plus it's expensive, getting the 256GB iPad Air will cost you $750, and the Magic Keyboard is another $300. Still, for folks looking for a powerful and sleek tablet, and Air is a great choice for almost everyone.

Apple iPad 2020 Review - All You Need?

I know, it's not common for us to review anything other than the flagship, but I decided to buy this because I wanted to do an experiment in perspective. See, I've been an avid iPad user for years, and I've spent thousands of dollars getting the best one, but during that process, Apple has slowly been their least expensive models better. I wanted to see if I could survive with the most bare bones inexpensive variant Apple makes, and see if it's really worth paying more to go Pro. Model:

The iPad Air 2020 is a mid-range tablet released by Apple. It features the A14 Bionic processor with a 5nm architecture. Apple claims it is 40% faster than the previous generation and saves more power. The A14 Bionic also includes a second-generation machine-learning accelerator in the CPU, which increases the speed of machine-learning calculations by 10 times. The combination of a brand-new neural network engine, CPU machine-learning accelerator and high-performance GPU brings a powerful upgrade to image recognition, natural language learning, and action-analysis functions on the device. Apart from this, the iPad Air is similar to the iPad Pro 11. It includes a 7-megapixel front-facing FaceTime HD camera, and retains a 12MP rear camera, plus the iPad Pro’s USB-C interface and four-speaker configuration. The new generation of the iPad Air also supports Apple's second-generation Pencil that can be attached to the top for charging. The new iPad Air also retains fingerprint recognition which is built into the power button. Of course, most iPad Pro accessories (including Magic Keyboard) are also supported. As for the design, the iPad Air has a new slim and lightweight design. In fact, it weighs only 1 pound and is 6.1 mm thick. The aluminium chassis features flat, rounded edges that wrap around the Retina display – it is the same overhauled design used on the new iPad Pro. The iPad Air this time offers a total of five colours, in addition to the traditional dark grey and silver the colour options rose gold, blue, and green are available.

The new iPad Air is designed to be environmentally friendly to support Apple's plan of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030. The iPad Air features a 100% recycled aluminium body, and the solder on the motherboard uses 100% recycled tin. The magnets in the new iPad Air speakers also use 100% recycled rare earth elements. The wood-fibre packaging is made of recycled materials or comes from forests that are managed responsibly. The new full-screen design employs a larger 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display, which brings a brilliant visual experience, with 3.8 million pixels and advanced technology, including full-plane lamination, P3 wide colour gamut support, original-colour display and anti-reflection coating, which delivers an excellent visual experience. The Apple iPad Air 4 has two storage configurations, 64 GB and 256 GB. In addition to the WiFi version, they also have an LTE version at a higher price tag. The iPad Air 2020 supports WiFi 6, and Apple claims that its battery life can reach 10 hours. Conclusively, the Apple iPad Air 4 (2020) is one of the most eye-catching products. In addition to major design changes, it also released the world's first 5nm mobile chip and is thus a step ahead of the iPad Pro and the iPhone. It is suitable for most users who require a tablet for entertainment or work, since it is a very reliable and stable device.

The chip is manufactured in 5nm and integrates 11.8 billion transistors.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

10.90":

This is a standard display format for tablet computers or small convertibles. You see more on the screen than on a smartphone but you can't use big resolutions well. On the other hand, mobility is not a problem.
