Apple announces 'let loose' special event for rumoured iPad Air Mini LED and iPad Pro OLED releases
Apple has announced the date of its next 'special' event, almost two months after upgrading the MacBook Air 13 and MacBook Air 15 to its Apple M3 chipset. Going off the teaser embedded above and below, it seems that Apple will turn to its iPad division, which it arguably last refreshed with by releasing the USB Type-C version of the Apple Pencil (curr. $69 on Amazon) in late 2023.
Based on various rumours, Apple is expected to reveal a new Apple Pencil alongside a Magic Keyboard accessory. Incidentally, the company's 'let loose' teaser contains a hand using what appears to be an Apple Pencil in a rather obvious nod to what the event has in store. Moreover, Apple is rumoured to be letting loose four iPads split evenly between its iPad Air and iPad Pro series.
In summary, the company is anticipated to deliver a new iPad Air size, possibly with the Mini LED display from the current iPad Pro 12.9. Additionally, this iPad Air 12.9 should arrive alongside a smaller iPad Air, plus redesigned a iPad Pro in 11-inch and 12.9-inch sizes. Seemingly, Apple has already added support for new iPad Pro 11 and iPad 12.9 tablets within iPadOS 17.5, which could well be the pair's launch software when they debut on May 7 at 14:00 UTC.
