Apple Vision Pro becomes available in South Korea and UAE
Apple has augmented the very short list of countries in which its inaugural Vision Pro can be bought with 2 new locations. It is no less expensive than usual in either of them, however, as it is now priced at 4,990,000 won (~$3,585) in South Korea and 13,999 dirham (~$3,812) in UAE.
The headset can be ordered in Apple Stores or via the OEM's website in either new market. Its prospective owners can avail of the same concierge-like testing and fitting experience offered in other Vision Pro-eligible countries such as the United States in either case.
Those new customers can also enjoy visionOS 2 on their new extra-premium headset. The new software update allows users to edit "spatial" video with Final Cut Pro, convert existing photos taken on 'ordinary' devices like iPhones into equally spatial (or 3D) photos and, possibly most practically, use the headset as an external display for Macs.
Whether new developments such as these can boost the Vision Pro's currently flagging sales remains to be seen. In the meantime, the much more affordable (and repairable) Meta Quest 3S still starts at $299 on Amazon.
