Earlier this week, Anbernic released its RG DS gaming handheld globally after a wave of last-minute leaks. Dropped with no prior warning, Anbernic stresses that it will not begin shipping until December. Specifically, the company states it expects to ship RG DS pre-orders 'in sequence before December 15, 2025'.
In the meantime, the company has showcased how the RG DS' dual-screen experience in a new video. Embedded below, the video highlights that it is possible to use each display independently or with both engaged in emulating a single Nintendo DS game. While stylus support has already been established, Anbernic has now clarified that the RG DS can emulate DS games that rely on gyro or microphone controls, too.
On top of that, the RG DS is compatible with the Nintendo 3DS' comic app for reading comics across the handheld's two displays. In short, the RG DS combines the 4-inch displays from RG40XX series models like the RG40XX H (curr. $73 on Amazon) with a Rockchip RK3568 chipset and a 4,000 mAh battery. Please see our original launch article and the videos below for more details about Anbernic's new sub-$100 gaming handheld.
