Abxylute has announced plans to launch the 3D One glasses-free 3D PC gaming handheld on Kickstarter later this month around November 13th (subject to change).
The Intel CPU-powered handheld utilizes a 10.95-inch, 120 Hz, 2,560 x 1,600 LTPS LCD screen with 480 nits of brightness that is capable of displaying 3D images without the need for special glasses, says Abxylute.
Exact specifications will be released at launch, but it is expected to ship with a 1 TB SSD and a 50 Wh battery, according to posts in Discord. The system reached a preliminary 3DMark Time Spy graphics score of 4,067 in a video released by the company.
A switch on the body activates the 3D mode, which utilizes 2D-to-3D conversion software to display 2D games, movies, and images in 3D in real time. As noted in its announcement and Discord posts, the handheld uses AI eye-tracking cameras along with a TN LCD layer above the main LCD panel to direct separate images to the left and right eyes, creating the 3D effect, similar to the Tencent Games Sunday Dragon 3D handheld concept it is based on and the upcoming DigiEra HoloMax competitor.
Abxylute is offering interested buyers the opportunity to save $200 on the $1,499 Kickstarter Early Bird price and receive a free Abxylute C6 wireless game controller (sold on Amazon) by reserving a VIP slot with $150 deposit before the campaign launches.
VIPs will have 48 hours after launch to redeem their coupons for a $200 discount; thereafter, the coupon reverts to a $150 discount on the price of the 3D One, according to the company. After the Kickstarter campaign ends, the price of the 3D One will revert to its MSRP of $1,799 and unused deposits will be refunded.
