Amazfit smartwatch with 3,000 cd/m² brightness, offline maps, and $100 price gets update

Zepp Health is rolling out a new software update for the Amazfit Bip Max, a relatively new and attractively priced smartwatch. Currently available on Amazon for $100, it targets budget-conscious users while offering solid features, including up to 20 days of battery life and 4 GB of internal storage, which can also be used for offline maps.
The update brings the firmware to version 3.12.03 and has a download size of 15.41 MB. While it does not introduce major new features, it delivers several notable refinements. Most importantly, in the latest version of Zepp Flow, the BioCharge metric has been renamed HybridCharge. This aligns with a broader industry trend—seen in brands like Garmin—of combining physiological and lifestyle data into a single, intuitive energy score. The metric incorporates factors such as sleep quality, as well as physical and mental stress from daily activities and workouts.
According to the changelog, two further improvements have been added. The morning report has been expanded to include more detailed insights, such as sleep quality and weather updates. Users can also record audio notes during workouts, making it easier to capture thoughts or reminders on the go without interrupting training.
