Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 and Ultra 2: Leak reveals new health features and watch faces

The Samsung Galaxy Watch9 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 are expected to be officially unveiled on Wednesday, July 22. Leaks over the past few weeks have already revealed the design, the prices, the significantly larger batteries and the brighter display of the top-of-the-line model, while rumors suggest that both smartwatches will receive an upgrade to the new Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear Elite.
But the software is also set to receive updates. SammyGuru has already published images of five new watch faces. With "Analog Balance" and "Dual Digit," Samsung apparently offers a simple analog and a simple digital watch face, respectively, each with room for a few complications. "Dual Clock Info Board" displays two time zones simultaneously and, thanks to its numerous complications, is ideally suited for frequent travelers. The "Radial Dashboard" arranges complications in a ring around a digital time display. "Ultra Performance" is said to be available exclusively on the Galaxy Watch Ultra2.
SammyGuru also released screenshots of the new version of the Samsung Galaxy wearable smartphone app, which is set to include a number of design tweaks and new features that users of the Galaxy Watch8 ($246 on Amazon) should also benefit from. The app apparently features revamped, more intuitive settings, a home screen that prominently displays the smartwatch, and a new preview for watch faces.
One UI 9 Watch appears to bring several new features to the Galaxy Watch. The smartphone app already shows that Samsung will be able to generate tiles using AI, while the Gemini voice assistant can be activated by moving the smartwatch toward your mouth, rather than having to press a button or say a keyword.
Samsung is also said to be introducing new health features, such as workout intensity recommendations, an expanded analysis of data collected during sleep, and a warning if the user spends too much time in a noisy environment. The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is also expected to feature a trail run mode that displays elevation gain, as well as a diving mode that automatically activates once a certain depth is reached.
