Alldocube expands affordable tablet with 8.4-inch 90Hz display, Android 16 and microSD support

The iPlay 80 mini Pro was already available in Japan and in China as the iPlay Mini 4. Alldocube is now expanding the tablet to Amazon in Europe and the UK.

We previously reported that both versions share the same hardware, including an 8.4-inch 1,920 x 1,200 LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate, Unisoc T7300 processor, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS storage. The storage can be expanded by up to 1TB with a microSD card. 

The compact tablet measures 202.7 x 126 x 7.3mm (7.98 x 4.96 x 0.29 inches). Its display also supports Widevine L1 for HD streaming on compatible services.

Samsung's Galaxy Tab A9 is another compact Android tablet with LTE connectivity. Its 8.7-inch display has a lower 1,340 x 800 resolution and 60Hz refresh rate, while the tablet weighs 332g (0.73 lb) compared with about 300g (0.66 lb) for the iPlay 80 mini Pro.

The tablet also supports dual-SIM 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and dual-band GPS. Its three-slot tray can accommodate two nano-SIM cards and a microSD card, although users can choose only two of the three slots at once.

For cameras, the tablet has a 13MP rear sensor with autofocus and an LED flash, along with a 5MP front sensor. Other features include stereo speakers, face unlock, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB-C port. It runs Android 16 through Alldocube OS 5.0L.

The 6,050mAh battery supports up to 18W USB-C charging with Power Delivery, which is faster than the Galaxy Tab A9's 15W charging but slower than the 45W charging supported by the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus.

Alldocube says the iPlay 80 mini Pro has sold more than 3,000 units through AliExpress and has also gained a sizable audience in Japan.

Pricing and availability

The iPlay 80 mini Pro is now available on Amazon in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and Belgium. Alldocube lists a regular price of €199.99 ($228), while the introductory price is €139.99 ($160) after a €50 Amazon coupon and an additional 5% discount with the company's promotional code. The offer runs from September 23 to September 30.

In the UK, the tablet is listed at £199.99 ($265), with an introductory price of £119.99 ($159) after a £70 Amazon coupon and an additional 5% discount.
