This new tablet offers nearly 30 hours of battery life

The Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 currently costs around US$ 470 on amazon.com and is definitely not your run-of-the-mill tablet—you can tell that right away when you unbox it: A large, round speaker protrudes from the back, a circular stand ring wraps around it, and Lenovo has placed the hardware buttons for operation on the back.

The tablet also looks stylish, and the manufacturer has gone to great lengths to offer more than just a sleek design: In our Wi-Fi test, the 10,200-mAh battery delivered nearly 29 hours of runtime. Hardly any other current mid-range tablet can keep up with that.

A full day of use is no problem

The battery life should easily last a full day on the couch, whether you’re doom-scrolling through social media or streaming content—even if there’s no outlet nearby.

Even if you don’t charge it right away afterward, you should still be able to keep using it for a while the next day.

Charging at up to 45 watts

If the tablet does need to be plugged in, you’ll first need to have a compatible charger at home, since Lenovo doesn’t include one—at least in Europe. 

The Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 supports a maximum charging power of 45 watts. We had no issues with the chargers in our test lab, and the Lenovo tablet reached 100% battery again in no more than 3 hours.

The Tab Plus Gen 2 has even more to offer

It wasn’t just the battery life that impressed us about this tablet: It has enough CPU power for everyday use, as long as you’re not running extremely demanding apps.

It also comes with a great sound system, and the built-in stand is a real highlight feature in terms of flexibility. 

What we like less is that Lenovo can’t seem to commit to a long-term update promise, and that the tablet probably won’t receive any more security patches after 2030.
