Chinese smartphone manufacturers literally carried the foldable smartphone market on their backs in 2024 with impressive devices such as the Honor Magic V3, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 4, Xiaomi MIX Flip, and the tri-folding Huawei Mate XT Ultimate. That trend will continue in 2025 as a leaker has revealed that the top five Chinese phone brands all have new foldables planned for the year.
According to Digital Chat Station, Oppo, Honor, Vivo, and Huawei all have new foldables confirmed to launch this year. Oppo seems to be first in line with the Find N5 which will also be rebadged as the OnePlus Open 2. Honor will announce the Magic V4, Vivo will launch the X Fold 4 or X Fold 4 Pro while Huawei will announce the Mate X7.
Xiaomi isn't mentioned in the original post, but the leaker added in the comments that all top five Chinese brands which includes Xiaomi plan to expand their foldable smartphone lineup. However, their release schedule will change. It can be presumed that Xiaomi's next foldable which should be the MIX Fold 5 may arrive much later in the year. Also, considering Xiaomi hasn't skipped a year since its first foldable, the MIX Fold, was announced in 2021, there's a high chance of a new model this year.
In addition to the book-style foldable phones, Digital Chat Station also revealed that there will be three new clamshell foldables from Chinese brands. Huawei will announce the Pocket 3, Xiaomi will launch the MIX Flip 2 which is reported to get a battery upgrade, while Honor will launch the Magic V Flip 2.
Unsurprisingly, all of these new products will make their debut in China, but some of them should eventually get a global launch later.
