At CES 2026, Alienware has introduced the Aurora 16X, a compact gaming laptop below the Area-51 series while still using Intel Core Ultra HX processors and Nvidia’s RTX 50-series laptop GPUs.
The Aurora 16X is powered by Intel Core Ultra 5, 7, or 9 HX processors, alongside Nvidia's GeForce RTX 5060 or RTX 5070 laptop GPUs. GPU power is capped at 115 W, with Dynamic Boost adding up to 15 W depending on configuration. Cooling is handled by Alienware’s Cryo-Chamber design, using dual fans, copper heat pipes, and multiple exhaust vents to maintain sustained performance under load.
This model comes with a 16-inch OLED display with a 2560 × 1600 resolution, 240 Hz refresh rate, and 0.2 ms response time. The panel is VESA ClearMR 9000 certified, supports HDR True Black 500, covers 120% DCI-P3, and reaches up to 620 nits peak HDR brightness. Alienware also includes pixel-protection software to reduce OLED burn-in risk.
The Aurora 16X supports up to 64 GB of DDR5 memory and PCIe Gen 4 NVMe storage, with RAID 0 available on dual-drive configurations. Port selection includes Thunderbolt 4, USB-C with DisplayPort support, HDMI 2.1 connected directly to the dGPU, USB-A ports, and an RJ-45 Ethernet port. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
The laptop weighs approximately 2.66 kg and uses a 90 Wh battery. Power delivery is handled via a 180 W or 280 W barrel charger depending on GPU configuration, with USB-C charging available separately. The chassis features an anodized aluminum lid and bottom cover, a 1-zone RGB keyboard with 1.4 mm key travel, and a redesigned hinge that allows one-handed opening.
The company hasn't revealed the pricing and availability options for the Aurora 16X yet.
