Acer launches Travelmate P4 & Spin P4 business notebooks with Intel Tiger Lake CPUs
The Travelmate series from Acer is now getting upgraded with the latest Intel Tiger Lake CPUs featuring the Xe iGPUs. Acer’s business-oriented lineup now includes two new 14-inch models: the Travelmate P4 notebook and the Travelmate Spin P4 convertible. These come with redesigned, lighter, more compact chassis sporting MIL-STD 810G proofing.
Both Travelmate models feature similar specs, except, of course for the 360° hinge and touchscreen with Acer Active Styles, plus a 4G LTE eSIM included on the Spin P4 convertible. The list of shared specs includes up to 32 GB of DDR4 RAM, up to 1 TB of NVMe SSD storage, a quality 14-inch IPS display, plus a battery that can last up to 15 hours. For improved security, the new Travelmate models integrate an IR webcam with privacy cover and a fingerprint reader. Port selection is also identical for the two models and it features a Thunderbolt 4 along with 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 connectors, HDMI 2.0b video output, GbE jack, audio jack, and a microSD card reader.
The redesigned chassis are ~18 mm thick and made of an aluminum-magnesium mix. As far as weight is concerned, the Spin P4 model is a bit bulkier at 1.53 Kg since it integrates the more sophisticated touchscreen.
Acer will begin shipping these models in December and the Spin P4 will feature European MSRPs starting at 999 EUR, while the P4 prices will start at 879 EUR (U.S. prices should be slightly lower).
