CES 2021 | Acer Nitro 5 upgraded to feature AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX, NVIDIA RTX 3080 Mobile, and a 360 Hz display option
Last year's Nitro 5 paired the Ryzen 5 4600H with a GTX 1650 Ti. This time, we are seeing Acer announcing a new Nitro 5 gaming laptop with high-performing internals from AMD and NVIDIA that were just announced during CES 2021.
The new Acer Nitro 5 is powered by the AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX processor, which is an 8C/16T part with a 45 W+ TDP. Not being content with that, the Nitro 5 also features an NVIDIA RTX 3080 Mobile for that added oomph while gaming.
Acer said that the Nitro 5 can support up to 2 TB of NVMe storage and 2 TB of HDD storage with buyers also having the option of configuring the device with up to 32 GB of RAM. Wi-Fi 6 and Killer E2600 LAN provide fast low-latency network connectivity for online gaming.
Acer is offering three display options with the Nitro 5, which is available in both 15.6 and 17.3-inch versions. Buyers can choose from a QHD 165 Hz, FHD 144 Hz, and FHD 360 Hz refresh rates. Acer said all display options come with a 3 ms, and the QHD panel covers 100% of the sRGB color space.
Keeping the innards cool is AcerCoolBoost technology with four exhaust vents. Acer offers the NitroSense app to allow gamers to automatically monitor or adjust cooling needs as required.
The Acer Nitro 5 15.6-inch (AN515-45) will be available from May with prices starting from €899 for the 15.6-inch version. The 17.3-inch Nitro 5 (AN517-41) will be available from April starting from €999.
