Acer reveals two Nitro 5 budget gaming laptops with Intel Tiger Lake-H35 CPUs
Acer already unveiled a couple of new Intel-based laptops from the Nitro series ahead of CES 2021. The two new Nitro 5 gaming models were spotted on the Dutch section of the official site and appear to be budget-oriented variants featuring some unannounced Tiger Lake-H35 processors from Intel, which get slightly higher TDPs and clocks compared to the already available Tiger Lake-U models. Both models come with 15.6-inch screens but feature different configurations.
ACER NITRO 5 AN515-56-72KT NH.QAMEH.005 seems to be the more expensive version and comes equipped with a quad-core Intel i7-11370H CPU coupled with 16 GB of DDR4 RAM plus 512 GB PCIe NVMe SSD storage. The IPS screen features FHD resolution and 144 Hz refresh rate. The lower-priced NITRO 5 AN515-56-57YH NH.QAMEH.001 model features a quad-core i7-11300H with 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of NVMe SSD storage, but it does not get 144 Hz refresh rate for the screen.
Both models feature the entry-level Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 GPU with 4 GB, which could indicate that Acer intends to keep prices well under $1,000. Other features found on both models include the signature red backlit keyboard, an HD webcam with dual array mics, Wi-Fi 6 + BT 5.0, a 57 Wh battery and port selection with 3x USB-A + 1x USB-C connectors, HDMI video output plus GbE and audio jacks.
