Acebeam has introduced the T29, which currently retails for a special launch price of $82.40. This flashlight measures about 7.9 inches in length and weighs just over 10.5 oz. It further offers a range of up to 1,531 yards or 1,400 meters, but its head is also relatively large with a diameter of 2.6 inches, which is significantly thicker than the handle.
The diameter of the handle is primarily determined by the battery, and Acebeam opted for a replaceable 21700 battery in this case. With a capacity of 5,600mAh or 20.1Wh, it offers slightly more capacity than typical 21700 batteries. However, there are some 21700 batteries with higher capacity. For example, Nitecore sells one with 21.6Wh. Anyhow, the battery is charged directly inside the flashlight via a USB-C port, which is protected by a cover. With a suitable charger, the battery can be fully charged in about 2.5 hours. Around 10 watts should be sufficient for that.
Acebeam has published divided the battery runtimes into typical categories. The maximum range of 1,531 yards at 2,900 lumens is available for four minutes. After that, the T29 offers a range of 936 yards for 1:50 minutes at 1,150 lumens. The maximum runtime at 12 lumens is 163 hours, which still provides a range of roughly 110 yards. The T29 emits a cool white light with 6,500 K. Additional runtimes can be seen in the chart that’s embedded below.
The tactical flashlight has a robust build and an IP68 rating, so it can be used in the rain. Acebeam even states that the gadget is waterproof, but it’s not suitable for diving. Either way, the price of the new Acebeam T29 is supposed to increase to $109.90 after the aforementioned launch discount expires. Several accessories can be ordered in a bundle with that flashlight, including a remote pressure switch, a green filter or fitting mount.
