Aaeon has revealed a fresh new offering in the industrial mini PC segment, dubbed the Boxer-6649-RAP. Powered by 13th Gen Intel Raptor Lake processors, the mini PC boasts plenty of connectivity options, including a total of five Ethernet ports.
Processor options are limited to 28W CPUs from the Raptor Lake family, including the 8-core Intel Core i3-1320PE, 12-core Core i5-1340PE, and 14-core Core i7-1370PE chips. Dual SODIMM slots can accommodate up to 96 GB of DDR5 memory, and storage requirements are handled by a single M.2 2280 slot and 2.5" drive bay. The 2.26-liter mini PC is completely fanless, allowing for quiet operation in sensitive environments. The list of ports on offer is as follows:
- Dual USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A
- Four USB 2.0 Type-A
- Dual HDMI
- 15-pin, 9-pin D-subminiature (8-bit)
- M.2 2230, M.2 3052 for expansion
- 3.5mm audio jack
There is no option for discrete GPUs, which is to be expected considering the compact and fanless nature of the system. Priced at $1,345 for the barebones variant, the Aaeon Boxer mini PC is clearly not intended to be cheap. Primarily targeted at industrial use cases, such as real-time inferencing from video streams, the BOXER-6649-RAP is already available for purchase from Aaeon's official online store.
Possible consumer-focused alternative: Minisforum UM880 Plus (curr. $518 on Amazon)
