AOC reveals pricing details for 27-inch 4K dual-mode gaming monitor

Towards the end of last year, AOC introduced a new dual-mode gaming monitor that can switch between 4K at 160 Hz and 1080p at 320 Hz. Dubbed the Agon AG277UX, the 27-incher was intended to serve gamers who want the best of both worlds, at least on paper.
Back then, we did not have any pricing details to speak of, but it appears that we do now. The monitor has finally gone on sale in China, priced at 1,999 Yuan or ~$293. Considering that AOC likes to bring its products to the international market, a global launch for the AG277UX does appear quite likely. However, the exact time frame is up for debate.
Agon AG277UX: Affordable 27-inch gaming monitor boasts respectable specs
According to AOC's claims, the monitor utilizes a fast IPS panel, which, as mentioned earlier, can switch between 3840 x 2160 at 160 Hz x 1920 by 1080 at 320 Hz. AOC also claims 100% coverage of the sRGB and 95% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamuts, with a ΔE of less than 2.

Clearly, folks who care about color reproduction and accuracy will also be quite pleased with the product if AOC's numbers turn out to be true. There is no mini LED backlighting on offer. Maximum brightness peaks out at around 600 nits, which is decent enough for most use cases but nothing to write home about.
Aimed primarily at gamers, the overall design aesthetic is unsurprisingly quite bold. Ergonomic adjustments include tilt, height, and rotation. The I/O selection has been listed below:
- Dual HDMI 2.1
- DisplayPort 2.1
- Triple USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
- Audio jack
Considering that the gaming monitor's US availability is unclear as of this writing, gamers who require a new display sooner can check out something like the LG UltraGear 27G810A, currently available for $349 on Amazon.
