Äike has launched the T e-scooter, which it claims is the first light EV that you can charge via USB-C cable. The removable 583 Wh battery provides up to 40 km (~25 miles) range and can recharge in around 8 hours via 100 W USB-C or four hours via a charger. Plus, you can use the scooter to charge other devices via a 5 V output. The 350 W motor allows the scooter to reach a top speed of 25 kph (~16 mph).
You can control the settings of the e-scooter and lock or unlock it via the accompanying app; Äike claims that the T is one of the smartest IoT-integrated scooters on the market. The Äike T is IPX5 rated weatherproof and will work in temperatures from -17 to +35°C (1 to 95°F). The scooter weighs 19 kg (~42 lbs) and can support loads up to 150 kg (~331 lbs).
A dock mounted on the handlebars allows you to connect your phone to the scooter for navigation. Theft protection features of the scooter include smartphone notifications triggered if your bike moves, a built-in alarm and an automatic brake lock. Plus, the T has integrated GPS, allowing you to track its location.
You can now pre-order the Äike T e-scooter in Europe for €999 (~US$1,014) with a €69 (~US$70) deposit. It’s worth noting that only 500 units of the product are available at this time, and shipping is expected to start in November.
