OKAI NEON LITE ES10 electric scooter unveiled with 30 km range
The OKAI NEON LITE ES10 electric scooter has been revealed. The kick scooter has an aircraft-grade aluminum frame, with the vehicle weighing 15 kg (~33 lbs). Plus, you can fold the scooter to make it easier to carry.
9-in high elastic vacuum tires are fitted to the NEON LITE alongside a lithium battery that provides up to 30 km (~19 miles) range on a single charge. The scooter is equipped with a 300 W motor with a maximum power of 600 W; the vehicle's top speed is unknown, though it will likely be 25 kph (~16 mph) to comply with EU rules.
The NEON LITE is rated as IP55 IPX waterproof, making it splash-proof. You can connect to the e-scooter via Bluetooth and view information about the device and your journey on the LCD or in an accompanying smartphone app. You can use the app to control settings such as light color and mood lighting for improved visibility in low lighting. Plus, a phone mount on the handlebars allows you to use your gadget for directions on the go.
You can currently sign up to a waitlist to pre-order the OKAI NEON LITE ES10 electric scooter in Europe with a €20 (~US$20) deposit and receive a €50 (~US$50) discount off the retail price. It is currently unclear how much the product will cost; as a guide, the OKAI NEON e-scooter retails for €649 (~US$653). Further information about the NEON LITE, including a release date, is expected in the coming weeks.
