With the rising prices of some Nintendo Switch 2 games, this summer may see at least one affordable alternative. Drag x Drive pits players against each other in 3vs3 wheelchair basketball battles. The title supports mouse mode and aims to demonstrate the full potential of the Switch 2 Joy-Cons.

Drag x Drive is a showcase for the reinvented Switch 2 Joy-Cons and their mouse mode. Given considerable attention at the April Nintendo Direct, the wheelchair basketball title is due out in the summer of 2025. While a more exact release date is unknown, the Brazilian leaker 'Necro' Felipe has shared a possible price. Drag x Drive could be one of the more affordable first-party Switch 2 games at approximately $20.

'Necro' Felipe received word of what Drag x Drive will cost on the Brazilian Nintendo eShop. He isn't guaranteeing the price point, but it has nonetheless caught the attention of gamers. The title is purely a digital release and will likely not use a cartridge in any region.

Some critics who have watched footage of Drag x Drive believe it's more of a tech demo than a game. Based on the available information, the scope of the title seems limited, which may explain the lower price. Still, testers have found it to be one of the best examples yet of upgraded Joy-Cons. For example, moving the controllers in one direction simulates real-life wheelchair use, propelling players forward. Lifting the Joy-Cons off a surface allows gamers to shoot and catch the basketball.

Another concern play testers have had is with the ergonomics of the stock Switch 2 controllers. When used for extended periods, the devices don't feel as comfortable to hold as conventional mice. Some Switch 2 games support USB mice, but they don't appear as suited for Drag x Drive.

The other notable first-party Switch 2 title with a low price is the Welcome Tour. Even at $10, some gamers had expected the interactive demo to be free. Drag x Drive may offer a more immersive gaming experience, despite lacking cutting-edge visuals.
