A new leak has outlined when Vivo plans to offer its next-generation foldable outside China. Surprisingly, the so-called Vivo X Fold5 may launch before Samsung manages to replace the Galaxy Z Fold6 with the Galaxy Z Fold7.

Vivo has had a relatively busy year so far when it comes to its smartphone division. Recently, the company released the X200s and X200 Ultra with Dimensity 9400+ and Snapdragon 8 Elite chipsets, respectively. Then earlier this week, it followed these flagships up with the S30 and S30 Pro mini, albeit only in China too.

In comparison, it has left its foldable series to wither somewhat since introducing the X Fold3 and X Fold3 Pro simultaneously in March 2024. According to a report from earlier this month, Vivo has not left the foldable market just yet. Instead, Yogesh Brar argued that the Vivo X Fold5 would receive a global release in Q3 2025.

Now, Sanju Choudhary has gone further by naming the date in which the X Fold5 will first be available. Reportedly, the foldable will officially arrive on July 10, which will be a year to the day after Samsung announced the Galaxy Z Fold6 globally (curr. $1,099.99 on Amazon). By contrast, Choudhary expects this July release window to only apply to India. Please see our earlier article for a rundown of the hardware that the X Fold5 is anticipated to bring to the table.
