Rumour: GTA 6 may be delayed again

Awaited by millions of gamers around the world, GTA 6 could have an unpleasant surprise in store. Indeed, rumors of a delay continue to spread on social media, to the dismay of fans.

So, while GTA 6 has officially announced a release date of May 26, 2026, Tom Henderson recently spoke on the Insider Gaming podcast, stating the following: 

"To be honest, I don’t think that it is gonna release in May. For some reason, I just cannot see GTA 6 releasing in May. You know, all the rumblings and so on just doesn’t seem to suggest it. Not got enough to corroborate or report on it, so don’t put this on Reddit. I think Rockstar have proven time and time again that they’re perfectionists. To me personally, I think we are looking at October, and then it allows them to get the holiday sales." 

Therefore, if GTA 6 were to be released at the end of 2026, it could have several positive effects, both for Rockstar Games and other publishers. It must be said that the end of the year is an important time for sales, and such a highly anticipated game would be hugely successful. Not to mention that this would bring it closer to the release of new consoles, such as the PS6, which would also be a major advantage. Finally, other publishers could release their games earlier in the year without fear of being overshadowed by this game.

And according to Tom Henderson, this announcement could be made at the end of 2025. But beware, because these are just rumors. And in the absence of official information, it is best to remain cautious, as the possibility of the game being released on May 26, 2026 remains.
