Retroid offers a handful of accessories for the Pocket 5 such as an official screen protector, a console skin, a carrying case, a protective shell, and a backplate. Now, it has begun selling an official grip case for the handheld.
The Retroid Official Grip for the Pocket 5 is priced at $15, and is available to buy in black, purple, and white/transparent. The black variant is available now while the purple variant won't begin shipping until May 22. The transparent variant will begin shipping on May 26.
Unlike the protective shell which wraps around the Retroid Pocket 5, the official grip case has handles like a controller for improved ergonomics. Retroid didn't say what material the case is made from nor does it mention how much thickness it will add to the Pocket 5.
The Retroid Pocket 5 (available on Amazon for $259) is a Snapdragon 865-powered Android handheld device. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of expandable storage. It also has hall effect joysticks, a cooling fan, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and a 5,000mAh battery that charges at 27W. It runs Android 13 out of the box and can be connected to an external display.
