Earlier this year, PowerA announced the Advantage Nintendo Switch 2 wired controller. Now, the gaming accessories manufacturer has launched a new Switch 2-compatible Advantage wireless controller. PowerA brings three new designs for the Advantage controller, including Black, Mario and Friends, and Pokemon Mega Evolutions.
Design-wise, the Advantage wireless controller retains the same design as its wired counterpart (curr. available at $36.25 on Amazon). You get the same Nintendo-style layout, Hall Effect analog sticks with anti-friction rings, triggers, two mappable buttons, and some extra buttons. Plus, it also has a C-button, which enables quick access to GameChat features.
Like other controllers, the Advantage controller also features two mappable buttons, which can be programmable even in the middle of gameplay, said PowerA in its press release. Dimension-wise, it measures 5.88 x 4.09 x 2.44 inches (14.93 x 10.4 x 6.2 cm) and weighs around 0.49 lb (222 grams). Speaking of battery, the company hasn’t exactly revealed the battery capacity. However, PowerA claims that the wireless controller offers 30 hours of battery life on a single charge.
The Advantage also has a USB-C port for charging and direct plug-and-play, as well as an LED indicator for real-time connectivity updates. Unfortunately, it doesn’t feature HD Rumble or amiibo support. On the positive side, it does ship with motion controls, which are absent in its wired version.
The PowerA Nintendo Switch 2 Advantage Wireless Controller Black/Mario and Friends/Pokemon Mega Evolutions is priced at $69.99. By contrast, the wired version is $20 cheaper than the wireless. As for availability, the controller is now available for pre-order at PowerA’s official website, Amazon, and other authorized retailers.
