PowerA is launching its Borderlands 4-themed Xbox Series X|S wireless controller tomorrow. The $99.99 pad features anti-drift Hall effect sticks and triggers, 3-way trigger stops, a built-in headset dial, and four mappable back buttons.

If you’re jumping into Borderlands 4, PowerA has a matching Xbox controller ready at launch. Announced back in August, the themed controller has been up for preorder through Amazon and Best Buy and will officially go on sale tomorrow, September 12, when the game drops.

The controller is essentially a Borderlands 4-themed take on the brand's wireless Xbox gamepad, which has also been released in Fortnite and Pac-Man editions. It’s built for Xbox Series X|S consoles, but PowerA says it should work just fine on PCs too.

In terms of design, the gamepad features a tasteful nod to Borderlands 4. A large mural of the Timekeeper, the game’s main antagonist, dominates the front, while the grips feature the Borderlands logo on the left and the Psycho Bandit mask on the right. The color scheme mixes bright orange with black, with the back of the controller finished mostly in black.

Borderlands 4 special edition PowerA controller features

For $99.99, buyers get a wireless controller with the familiar Xbox button layout. It features Hall effect joysticks and triggers, which help eliminate stick drift while offering more precise control in games like racers. On top of that, three-level trigger stops let players switch to mouse-click-style triggers for faster inputs in shooters. The controller also adds four fully customizable buttons on the back.

Other highlights include a headset dial for audio control via the onboard 3.5mm jack, a dedicated share button, and support for Microsoft’s Impulse Trigger technology. The gamepad connects wirelessly to Xbox through an adapter and, according to PowerA, delivers up to 30 hours of battery life on a single charge.

With everything it brings to the table, the Borderlands SE pad shapes up as a strong alternative to Microsoft’s own Xbox controller, especially for gamers tired of stick drift. It does cost more ($99.99 vs. $64.99), but the extra features should make it a strong contender.

The Borderlands 4 special edition PowerA controller is still up for preorder on Amazon and Best Buy and will officially launch tomorrow, September 12.
