Philips Hue launches new Adore Bathroom recessed downlight

A new white version of the Philips Hue Adore Bathroom recessed downlight has been released in Europe. The original version of this smart bathroom light, launched in 2019, had a silver frame. Now, you can buy these spotlights with a white plastic casing, meaning they can blend in better with a white ceiling.

The white Philips Hue Adore Bathroom recessed downlight has the same features as the upgraded silver version. These include the brand’s latest GU10 White ambiance light source, said to deliver up to 400 lumens brightness at 4,000K and run for around 25,000 hours. It offers a 40° beam angle and has a Color Rendering Index (CRI) of over 80.

You can adjust the brightness via a wireless dimmer or with the brand’s smartphone app. Here, you can also adjust the color temperature between 2,200K and 6,500K. Each recessed spotlight has a 92 mm (~3.6 inch) diameter, and they support Bluetooth and the Zigbee protocol. Also recently launched is the white Philips Hue Xamento recessed spotlight. The difference between these two models is that the Xamento has a White and color ambiance light source for colored lighting effects.

You can now buy the Philips Hue Adore Bathroom Recessed Downlight for €54.99 in countries like the Netherlands, Spain and Germany. A 3-Pack of the Philips Hue Adore Bathroom Recessed Downlight is also available for €139.99, meaning customers save €24.98 compared to purchasing these three lights separately. It is unclear if these smart lights will also be released in the US or the UK at a later date.
