Two Philips GamePix projectors are now available in Australia and New Zealand. The GamePix 800 and GamePix 900 were released in markets like Europe and North America earlier in 2025 (900 curr. $790 at Amazon US). As their name suggests, these models are designed for gaming, with a range of dedicated features.
The GamePix 800 is a DLP model with an LED light source. It delivers a 1080p resolution image with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 2,500 lumens brightness. The model has a 1.5:1 throw ratio, and the maximum image size is 150 inches. Plus, there is support for HDR10 and 98% coverage of the Rec.709 color gamut. For gaming, you can connect a console via HDMI with 8ms input lag at 120Hz.
The GamePix 900 is a 4K 240Hz DLP model with a lower maximum brightness of 1,000 lumens. It is unclear whether either of these brightness measurements is linked to an internationally recognised standard like ANSI or ISO. It has the same 1.5:1 throw ratio, though it can only produce images up to 120 inches wide. Again, there is support for HDR10, though 95% coverage of the Rec.709 color space. For gaming, it offers a 6ms input lag at 240Hz, or 8ms at 120Hz. Both models also have an integrated speaker.
You can now buy the Philips GamePix 800 and GamePix 900 projectors for A$2,299/NZ$3,679 and A$2,799/NZ$4,479, respectively. They are available at retailers like EB Games in Australia and New Zealand, and will also be sold at JB HiFi.
