OnePlus launches 6T McLaren Edition with 10GB of RAM and Warp Charge
OnePlus held an event to officially launch its partnership with McLaren at the automotive group's Technology Center earlier today. As expected, the release of the 6T McLaren Edition was also a part of this launch. The newest version of the Chinese OEM's latest smartphone has 10GB of RAM, a first for the OEM, and 256GB in fixed storage. The McLaren Edition also has a carbon-fiber look on the back panel, which abruptly shifts to a bottom edge finished in the F1 team's characteristic Papaya Orange.
The 6T McLaren Edition is also the first OnePlus phone to feature Warp Charge 30. This is a new technology (to this brand) that improves even more on the already-impressive proprietary USB type-C-facilitated fast charging found in the special edition's predecessors. It is rated to charge a 3400mAh battery to 50% in 20 minutes, beating OnePlus' previous charging speed of up to 60% in 30 minutes by a decent margin.
This form of charging is delivered by both the charging brick and cable included in a OnePlus original package as standard. On the other hand, the 6T McLaren Edition's charger has the car company's logo, and the cable is black and orange (which is reminiscent of the one found shipped with the OPPO Find X Lamborghini Edition). This version of the 6T will be available for purchase on December 13, and cost US$699 (GBP£649 or €699) on OnePlus' website.
