OnePlus 9 Pro tipped to feature an LTPO display
With the OnePlus 9 release date approaching quickly, the number of leaks surrounding the flagship smartphone has also grown considerably. The latest piece of information comes from well-known Twitter leaker Max Jambor, who suggests that the OnePlus 9 Pro will be the first-ever OnePlus-branded smartphone to feature an LTPO display.
We learned some time ago that the OnePlus 9 Pro would come with a 1440p AMOLED screen clocked at 120Hz. Whether or not it will be able to support both at the same time remains to be seen. Samsung managed to pull it off with the Galaxy S21 Ultra, so we see no reason why OnePlus can't follow suit. An LTPO screen also allows for dynamic refresh-rate adjustment, so we can expect that to be an OnePlus 9 Pro feature as well.
It seems unlikely that the vanilla OnePlus 9 will get the same treatment. In all likelihood, we're looking at a 1080p FHD+ AMOLED screen clocked at 120Hz. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, because both the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro are expected to feature the same 4,500mAh battery. OnePlus 9 users will be able to squeeze out more battery life out of their devices if nothing else.
