WalkingCat has struck again, following their leak of a new Galaxy Book earlier today. This new leak relates to more upcoming Samsung hardware too, namely the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite and the Galaxy Tab S7 Lite. While this is the first time that we have heard of the Tab A7 Lite, SamMobile claimed last month that Samsung had at least three versions of a new S-series Lite tablet in development.
According to the image published by WalkingCat, the Tab S7 Lite will have a 12.4-inch display, matching the display size of the Tab S7 Plus that Samsung released last year. However, the Tab S7 Lite will have an LTPS TFT panel like the Tab S7, rather than a Super AMOLED one like the Tab S7 Plus. Additionally, the Tab S7 Lite will have the same 2,560 x 1,600-pixel resolution that the Tab S7 has. By contrast, the Tab S7 Plus operates at 2,800 x 1,752 pixels.
Moreover, the leaked image confirms that the Tab S7 Lite will support 5G connectivity. If SamMobile is correct, then 5G models should have the model numbers SM-T736B and SM-T376N. There should also be SM-T730 (Wi-Fi only) and SM-T735 (LTE) models.
WalkingCat has revealed less information about the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, but it is visibly different from the Galaxy Tab A7. On the one hand, the Tab A7 Lite will have an 8.7-inch display, 1.7-inches smaller than the 10.4-inch one found in the Galaxy Tab A7. Samsung has also designed the Tab A7 Lite for use in portrait mode, as opposed to landscape mode with the Galaxy Tab A7. Accordingly, Samsung has orientated its logo and the device's front-facing camera for portrait mode.
Apparently, Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite and Galaxy Tab S7 Lite in June 2021. It is unclear if the company has planned a global release for that month though, or just one for some Anglophonic countries.
