Sony doesn't want to change the batteries of the own Vaio notebooks.

Though Sony-batteries caused a recall of 6.1 millions laptop batteries, Sony does not want to change these batteries in the own laptops.

Indeed, up to now no reports of exploding Sony-laptops occurred. At the moment, the reason of the burning notebooks are a lack of fabrication in a japanese factory of Sony. Metal splitters penetrated the batteries and cause short-circuits. Nonetheless Fujitsu-Siemens uses these batteries too and no laptops of this enterprise burnt. As Sony and Fujitsu-Siemens explain, the total configuration seems to play an important role. Therefore Sony may be able to prevent an additional expensive desaster of a Vaio recall.
