Riding on a number of notebook components in line for release this year.
MSI, the leading PC manufacturer and owner of brands like Wind and X-Slim, expects its notebook shipments to grow more than 50% on year in 2010 – as reported by Digitimes. This is after a poor early 2009 performance, which did not stop the Taiwanese company from coming back strongly in the later part of that year, and this could well be the reason for this optimism.
Their latest showcase was a 3D all-in-one PC at CES 2010 and plans to launch a 3D notebook in near future.
2010 definitely will be an interesting and busy year for the chip and notebook makers alike. MSI, along with other major players in the notebook market, will have the opportunity to offer machines with different specifications as a number of processors and other components are lined up for release this year. First it was Windows7 on Oct 22nd which gave the companies an opportunity to bring new notebooks and also upgrade their already existing ones with Win7. Next in line were the Pineview and the Core i-series. The CULV are constantly on the rise. So there is ample opportunity for MSI to make up for the numbers lost in 2009.
