MacBook Pro 17" battery costs $179

The new 17 inch MacBook Pro was introduced recently at the Macworld with an integrated battery that can only be changed by an Apple store for $179.

Apple presented an upgraded version of its 17-inch MacBook Pro at the Macworld. The device is equipped with a new type of battery and this shall last for 1.000 load cycles. This is a lifetime of approximately five years, but after that is has to get changed and this is only possible in an Apple store or from an authorized trader. This costs $ 179 and gets executed on one day.

For comparison, the removable MacBook battery costs $ 129 at the Apple store but some other retailers offer it for $ 99.
