HP Mini 1101 gets optional upgrades

Users have an option to add a 6-cell battery and a 32GB SSD
HP started taking orders for the HP Mini 1101 netbook way back in May. At that time users did not have any major configuration options but, now when a user orders the Mini 1101 from HP’s website he/she can either choose one from 2 pre-configured models or can customize his/her own netbook.
The first pre-configured model comes with a 10.1-inch (1,024x576 pixel) display, 1GB RAM, Windows XP operating system, and a 160GB hard disk. The price of this model is $329. The second pre-configured model has the same specs as the first one but comes with an internal 3G module capable of connecting to wireless broadband networks like AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint.
The customizable versions start from $427 and the prices go beyond $600 if one adds a 6-cell battery, 32GB SSD, and a 3G module. Still, there is no option for a higher resolution screen and the Durakey finish. HP might add other options to this netbook soon as it doesn’t make sense to pay a hefty amount for such minor configuration changes.
