MIU HDPC
New HDPC from MIU with Intel Atom-power
Mobile Intelligent Ubiquitous (MIU) from South Korea has released the third version of its Hybrid Dual Portable Computer (HDPC), which has two screens, two processors and two operating systems. The device features a 4.1-inch, 800x480 TFT screen that slides and then flips over and reveals a 320x240, 2.4-inch AMOLED screen set above a keypad.
An unspecified ARM processor is used for handling phone-related tasks on the small screen like taking photos, talking on the phone (VoIP or GSM/GPRS/CDMA), texting, playing music, and navigating the WinCE operating system. An Intel Atom processor runs on the larger screen the Windows XP operating system along with web-browsing, navigation and DMB functions. Switching between the dual modes is done manually by selecting the preferred method.
The HDPC is currently available in Korea for about $500.
