The Tegra Android ultra-portable device will reportedly use a Pixel Qi display

Notion Ink will supposedly announce a new product, described as a “smartpad” early next year.

Configuration

This new Android device, which is still unnamed, will supposedly be based on the upcoming Nvidia Tegra T20 chipset.

Notion Ink’s smartpad will be able to play 1080p Full HD videos on a 10.1-inch Pixel Qi panel display with a maximum resolution of 1024-by-600 pixels in color mode. Since there is no physical keyboard, customers will be provided with a touchscreen and a trackpad for easy navigation. The screen of this product will feature an anti-glare, oleophobic and scratch-resistant coating and can be employed to read books outdoors in direct sunlight.

The smartpad will be powered by eight cores and will feature either a 16GB or 32GB solid-state drive (SSD). It sports an SD card slot and consumers can extend the storage capacity. Notion Ink’s new device will come with an accelerometer and proximity/light/water sensors.

Connectivity

This elegant smartpad will house Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR connectivity. In addition, a tri-band UMTS/HSDPA, an A-GPS support and a digital compass will add to the overall appeal of this product. It will also feature USB ports, HDMI interface and a 3MP web camera with autofocus for video calls over the Internet and recording videos.

Other specs

Notion Ink’s Android tablet will come with a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery which delivers up to 48 hours of operating time in standby mode. Reportedly, battery life is 8 hours when watching HD videos and 16 hours when surfing the Internet.

Allegedly, this ultra-portable device weighs 1.7lbs (≈0.77kg) and will officially be announced in January of 2010 at the CES in Las Vegas.
