The Core i5-sporting laptop will be available before the end of March, 2010
Overview
Acer will reportedly soon equip its 11.6-inch Timeline Series with Intel’s all new 2010 Core i5 CPU. According to industry sources, the 1830T will be available to customers for purchase before the end of this month.
The new device has presumably made an appearance at the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) website, carrying various names, including AO721, JV10 and others.
Configuration
The upgraded ultra-thin and portable notebook will feature an Intel dual-core low-voltage Core i5-520UM central processing unit with an integrated GMA 3150 graphics controller and a clock speed of 1.06GHz, 3MB cache and a Max TDP of just 18W. Intel Turbo Boost and Hyper-Threading Technologies allow the core frequency to go up to 1.86GHz and enable the system to handle several applications simultaneously without causing instability.
The company will keep the same display with maximum screen resolution of 1366-by-768, which means customers can watch HD 720p videos. Furthermore, there are two memory slots available (up to 4GB of internal RAM). The Intel HM55-sporting laptop is expected to come with a spacious hard drive and up to eight hours of battery life.
Connectivity
The Acer Timeline 1830T will allegedly pack Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity along with optional Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and 3G modules. Consumers can also take advantage of the three USB 2.0 ports, HDMI output and optical audio support.
Other specs and Pricing
The new ultra-portable PC will supposedly have a similar weight to its predecessor and will be equipped with a full-sized chiclet keyboard.
Stay tuned as Acer will officially reveal pricing and availability details, as well as what operating system the 1830T will feature, before the end of March.
