Toshiba expanded its 17” notebook series by adding the P300 series. This new notebooks should attract desktop pc users to buy a notebook.

Toshiba added new 17” notebooks by creating the new P300 series. These desktop replacement laptops are made for formerly desktop pc users. The P300 notebook is equipped with an Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 processor with 1.83 GHz, and 2 GB RAM. The 17” display offers a resolution of 1.440 x 900 pixels, and gets supported by an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100. This graphic card hasn’t got dedicated VRAM, but can use up to 358 MB of the notebooks RAM.

A 250 GB hard disk provides enough disk space for saving data. Certainly, WLAN is included, and the WLAN-adapter supports the 802.11 a/b/g protocols. Windows Vista Business is pre-installed, but also a Windows XP DVD is included, and the customer can decide which operating system he wants to use. The Satellite P300 is available in April 2008, and costs € 860,-.
