Apricorn rolls out an affordable Aegis NetDock

The slim docking station might just have what your netbook is missing

Overview

The US-based PC storage products manufacturer Apricorn, headquartered in Poway, California has introduced a new docking station. The Aegis NetDock is now available to customers for pre-order and packs some crucial features for your netbook.

Specifications

The product page tells there are two models - a cheaper version that ships without an integrated mechanical hard drive and one sporting a 500GB 5400RPM HDD.

Aegis NetDock is an USB-powered docking station that features four high-speed USB 2.0 (up to 480MBps) ports with two ALWAYS ON ports that let you charge cell phones and other devices. Furthermore, customers can take advantage of the built-in DVD Burner - something your netbook most probably lacks.

The Auto On and OFF feature is quite essential as it makes the NetDock an energy efficient product which would turn off automatically when you are not using it.

Pricing and Availability

The ultra-slim Apricorn docking station is available in red and can now be pre-ordered on the company’s web site.

The model, which does not include an HDD, is priced at US $89(€65/£58) and the version with a 500GB rotating hard drive will cost you US $189(€137/£123).
